CB245 CCD
LX200 CB245 CCD Portable Equatorial Mount Observatory Looking Ahead Mirror Making Machine

As one of the first people to have received The CCD Camera CookBook manual in March of 1994, and having shortly thereafter having completed my CB245, I should be quite proficient in it’s use. The unfortunate truth is that I found lugging everything out into the back yard to be unappealing, and therefore have very little experience with it! I guess my minor claim to fame was solving a low voltage problem a number of builders were having on the –9.5v supply.

At the time the book came out, there was a strong interest in the Astronomy Forum on CompuServe. I have a zipped file (1.3 MB) covering the first 5 months of email dealing with the Cookbook Cameras –available to down load by clicking here.. This file covers a lot of initial questions, building problems and operation.

Once my observatory is completed, I plan on becoming more familiar with my CB245.

Future plans including adding the LDC modification and a shutter.
